She responded, saying that when she wanted to have the “Saudi Arabian truth”, she looked to Al Hayat. For the “Qatari truth”, she sought out Al Jazeera, and so on. It is clear, he said, that the conflict has illustrated the wrongdoings of the media, and how the destroy side are depending on type of media.

Pourquoi en si peu de temps voit-on autant d'entreprises françaises passer sous pavillon "transnational" ? La réponse est double. D'abord parce que les "prédateurs" sont sommés de faire quelque chose de leur excès de liquidités. Un rapatriement vers le pays d'origine étant souvent trop coûteux fiscalement, il s'avère difficile de le redistribuer directement aux actionnaires, alors la solution de la croissance externe s'impose presque naturellement (et hop, envolés les bénéfices taxables)... Cela même si l'expérience nous enseigne que les méga-fusions sont rarement créatrices de valeur.

Guy Verhofstadt of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats called on the EU to do more to stand up to the Russian president. “Putin shall not stop if he sees a weak European Union which is not capable to launch – I am not saying economic sanctions – but at least personal sanctions against the entourage of the people around Putin,” he said. “The Americans for example are tackling… the oligarchs. We have not the guts to tackle the oligarchs for the moment.”

While the President and his U.S. Trade Rep, Michael Froman, are determined to push the agreement forward, reports say TPP countries are not convinced that Obama will be able to rally the political support needed to pass a Fast Track bill. If it doesn't grant Fast Track authority, Congress can pick apart and question every aspect of this sprawling trade agreement. TPP countries are unwilling to make potentially harmful concessions to the U.S. if there’s a chance the agreement would simply be unraveled by Congress once signed. The conclusion of TPP therefore seems increasingly contingent upon the Obama administration getting Fast Track authority, and so far Congress has shown no indication that they're willing to give it to them.
