European elections: Small and Medium Parties in the heart of European’s political innovation.

Newropeans have just finished the first political trans-European survey - Press Release

Newropeans created a political event in 2009 by presenting the first trans-European list without referring to a national basis. They are innovating one more time in 2014 by launching the first trans-European questionnaire.

Being right in the middle of a deep European political crisis (deeply increased by the Ukrainian situation) and while the basic principles of a European project (Democracy, peace and continent Independence) are awfully threatened, Newropeans have considered that Political Parties and people concerned with the European Election had the responsibility to answer to “6 burning questions for historical European elections” (Refer to complete questionnaire).

Transatlantic Trade, NATO, peace and independence of the EU, democracy, Eurozone leading, European diplomacy controlled by democracy, here are the 6 questions about which, Newropeans have requested from around 500 parties from 18 countries belonging to euro zone + Poland to give precisions about their positions through this questionnaire broadcasted in 14 different languages.

The results of this political survey speak for themselves:

1. The « great » Parties (Conservatives, Socialists, and Liberals as a matter of fact, except Greens) have nothing to say about these topics! Those who have got much money to deal with the campaign didn’t find time to answer. Probably they are conscious that their ideas on these topics might make them lose some electors if they would be clarified.

2. The pro-Brusselians parties (and more precisely the Federalists) have preferred as well, not to communicate their positions.

3. We thought it wasn’t necessary to consult the extremist parties, which would have certainly answered us but whose destructive solutions wouldn’t have answered properly to the problematic as we had defined it: to put Europe back on its three legs: Democracy Peace and Independence.

4. On the contrary about 50 Small and Medium European parties have answered with much interest to our demand. And the result is, in spite of their linguistic, cultural, national and supporter difference, a real convergence of points of view comes out:

77% of these parties would take part in a coalition against the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership
74% would support a convention of the Euro zone Heads of State for European Peace and Independence
plus de 82% support the removal of NATO forces and US nuclear weapons from European territory
83% agree with the idea of putting under political control Mrs. Ashton’s diplomatic European service
86% wish that the great European decisions (change of community treaties, enlargement) to be done through referenda
72% support the proposal to build up a democratic Euroland

This result is the proof that it is possible to believe in a real political citizenship transeuropean implication, in favor of rescuing the principles of a European construction: democracy, peace, independence. This hope remains present in the small and medium European parties, which are the center of innovation and dynamism as far as European policy is concerned. It can be compared in the economical area with the SME which constitute the real center of innovation and dynamism.

These small and medium parties are weak, badly communicating, they are on a restricted national scale and don’t know each other. But under the guidance of Newropeans, they are actually going to meet each other… And it can change everything!

Meanwhile, during next European elections, there is another choice for the European citizens better than “the establishment” (they no more want) or “Hitler” (they are threatened if they do not go voting).

Newropeans was created in 2005 by Franck Biancheri (who died at the age of 51 years on the 31th Of October 2012) and by a group of European partisans, just after the referenda failure about the constitutional treaty…The reasons are, firstly the national parties and the governments weren’t efficient and legitimate enough to remain the protagonist of a European construction; and secondly the democratization of a European level which wasn’t united politically yet was getting more than necessary.
So Newropeans is the only transeuropean political party, which hasn’t got a national structure. This is the reason why it became, in spite of its weakness a very important gathering element of the European political life; several small and medium progressive European parties are looking forward to getting some transeuropean structuring.
In 2009, Newropeans presented common lists in 3 countries (France, Germany and Netherlands).
In 2014, Newropeans party judged that it would be more efficient staying outside the elections rather than inside.
That is the reason why it decided to send this questionnaire on the 1^st of last May, with the objective of clarifying the political offer for the elections with regards to the important stakes of the moment
Newropeans party isn’t a survey institute and assumes the fact that its questionnaire is not neutral. Its aim is to introduce the Newropeans sight about the different problematics created by the euro crisis, the Ukrainian crisis, and the political players around it.
